Orange, NJ As the threat of terrorism becomes increasingly more prevalent, and as incidences of school shootings appear on the rise, the need for community leaders to provide residents with a sense of security is imperative.
On Saturday, April 23, 2005, the City of Orange Township's Office of Emergency Management hosted a day long conference in which nationally noted experts revealed startling statistics and provided invaluable public safety procedures to be implemented in the event of a perilous emergency. Wayne Zigowitz, 21-year EMT veteran of the Fire and Rescue Division and Chief of the Littleton, Colorado, Fire Department, was the keynote speaker at the conference. His discussion addressed effective methods for responding to violence that could potentially occur in any school jurisdiction.
