Response Information
In order for us to activate in the shortest amount of time, you need to
understand that we do work as volunteers who are employed. The
timing of an incident is very critical in getting them activated.
Therefore, we have set forth the following from your juristiction to
enable us to get our crew notified and our supplies ready.
Our response time averages 1 to 1.5 hours from the time we care
called to respond. We respond to incidents of any nature, but usually
ones that call for general alarm or similar large response (when there
are 40 plus responders fire, police, EMS, HASMAT, etc.).
The following call-out system would be appreciated:
- Alert Stand-by Call
Inform us that an incident has occurred and where. Let us know what
it is, how many are involved (approximately), and what you should
want and need. We need directions to the scene too.
- Respond Call
We will respond to the incident site. We will report to the command
post, to the person in charge. We need to know where to set-up to
best serve everyone involved. If possible, we need to know how long
the incident may last (best estimate). This information is valuable
for us to plan relief crews and additional supplies if needed.
- Traffic Control
Outer perimeter/traffic control personnel should be notified that
we have been called and are responding so that we can be directed
to the appropriate location and reduce delays.
All calls should be from your municipal/county Emergency
Operations Center (EOC), police or fire departments
CAUTION:
Our vehicles carry propane tanks for cooking. This needs to be
considered when placing our vehicles at the scene.
